I work as an art consultant for public art since october 2008. This makes me responsible for the public art projects that are initiated in Haninge, and since January 2012 I am also responisble for a number of projects in Nacka, Stockholm.
It is safe to say that I have a history in working with public space and public art, especially together with artist Janna Holmstedt as the art duo Trial and Error. I really dont dislike any kinds of public art (except for the pieces that are simply bad art), but I am very fed up with naked women on pedestals and I am angered when no real thought has gone in to choosing the art that we share. I recently wrote about this in a blog for Konstfrämjandet (Se).
Most of my projects as an art consultant has involved extensive work together with the people who are supposed to live with it. That includes workshop programs for children, extensive collaborations with personnel at schools and specific requirements for the artists that work in these projects.

Poseidons gränd

New housings are beeing built in central Haninge. A public art piece will be placed at Poseidons gränd.
Torvalla simhall
Haninge, 2011 - 2012
The swimming bath of Torvalla has a lot of visitors but its entrance has degenerated. This project aim to reclaim the good things in the swimming bath.
Tallens förskola
Haninge, 2011 - 2012
The children at this kindergarden has worked with questions about public space.
We want this project to make use of this work and transform it into a public art piece together with the children.
Höglundaskolan
Haninge, 2010 - 2012
A new school is beeing built in Jordbro. 2010 was spent discussing art and its functions with teachers, the architect, and Tornberget. In fall 2010 we invited artists Lisa Jeannin and Rolf Schuurmans to suggest an art piece, and it will be presented as a scetch september 2011 and inaugurated summer 2012.

Juvelerna i Jordbro

All the children in grade 4 in three different schools in Jordbro, has told their stories on how their families came to Jordbro. In the final workshop all the children transformed their stories into an object, which was transformed into a shilouete.
The 120 shilouetes was then transformed into a public art piece by artists Mette Björnberg and Richard Johansson.

The painting ”Utsnitt” for Vändelsömalmsskolan
Haninge, 9 December 2009
After a recent maintenance of the dining room at the school, a new painting was to be selected. I chose a number of suitable paintings and art intendent / educationalist Åsa Mårtensson held a workshop with some students. The students were 11 years old and chose "Utsnitt" by Jan Edlund. Their motivation included phrases as "It's complex" and "death is present".

Bokbussen

To reach schools in the outskirts of Haninge it was decided that a library bus should be built. The library wanted the bus to be ”so good looking that people will turn around after it”. After some discussions we decided that the bus could be a mobile piece of public art with the possibility to reach all people in Haninge. I then presented the reference group with 12 artists, designer Åsa Klingberg and artist Kristoffer Zetterstrand recieved a parallel comission to propose the looks of the library bus and Kristoffer Zetterstrand was chosen.

Exhibition at Haninge art hall by Kristoffer Zetterstrand.
Kristoffer Zetterstrand made an art piece of Haninges library bus. To further introduce the library bus and his artistic work we built a solo exhibition at the art hall of Haninge.
